Refinished Tub and Countertop
Cleaning and Maintenance Tips
You have chosen Badger Bath for your refinishing needs, and can rest assured that we pride ourselves on using only the safest, highest quality most durable products available on the market to date. With normal use the new finish on your bathtub or countertop will provide you with years of trouble free service and beauty.

To maintain the great looks, lasting durability and your warranty of your new finish, follow these simple guidelines:

Things to do!
Allow 24 hours for the finish to cure, at which point recaulking should be done if necessary.

Wipe your tub or shower dry after use for the first seven days.

Always protect the surface when any remodeling or the like is taking place around it.
Always use a cutting board and trivets (hot pads) to protect your new countertop surface.

Avoid the following from coming into contact with your new surface:
Hair dyes, liquid bandages, muriatic acid, food colorings, sharp objects, chemicals such as CLR, Lime-Away, The Works or anything else acidic or caustic.

Cleaning your new surface on a regular basis is recommended to insure its high gloss and good looks.

Things not to do!
Do not use your refinished fixture until any necessary caulking has been done and allowed to cure properly.

Do not
use a bath mat w/ suction cups under any circumstance. If a non-suction cup type mat is used it must be removed after every use.

Never
use a (Draino) type of pipe cleaner w/standing water in the fixture. It should be poured directly down the drain and splashing should be rinsed immediately.

Do not bath your pets in your new finished tub. Dog bathing would almost certainly scratch up your finish and void your warranty. And children’s toys should be monitored to insure only soft plastics, sponge and rubber toys are used.

Stick-on non-skids may be applied to your tub or shower bottom, but must be removed by a professional only! we would recommend a non-skid in the finish or a Surestep mat.

Acrylic Care Guidelines
This beautiful surface is made of the world’s finest virgin acrylic….the highest quality, most durable material available.   Its non-porous hard surface prevents accumulating dirt and resists staining better than other plastics.   With normal use our acrylic is extremely durable and it will retain its beauty with only a minimum amount of care.   To maintain the great looks of your unit and your warranty, just follow these simple guidelines:

Cleaning and care:
For normal everyday cleaning, we suggest the use of a mild soap and water with a soft wash cloth.   Should you wish to use a cleaning product not listed below, always test it on a small area in the corner of the skirt before applying to the entire bath tub liner.   Always review individual cleaners and only use cleaners that are recommended for Acrylic by the manufacturer. Follow manufacturers’ instructions and rinse thoroughly after cleaning.

Recommended Cleaners:
Mr. Clean
Simple Green
Gel Gloss
Diluted bleach (1 part bleach to 4 parts water)
Dish washing Liquid Soap (such as Dawn, Joy or Ivory)
A dish washing liquid and vinegar solutions (1 quart water, 2 tablespoons liquid soap, 1 cup vinegar) is also recommended.

In extreme circumstances where the recommended cleaners do not work these cleaners may be used in moderation in small areas:
Soft Scrub
Liquid Comet may be used in moderation in smaller areas.

Small scratches can be removed by buffing lightly with a clean cloth and an automotive polishing liquid.

Never Use the Following:
Abrasive scouring pad
Hard bristle brush
Scrubbing Bubbles (or any cleaner that comes as a propellant)
Ammonia cleaners
Fantastic
Tough Act
Top Job
Acetone
Clean Shower
Abrasives such as Comet, Ajax or Bar Keepers Friend.
Liquid drain openers should never be applied in a tub of standing water and splashing should be rinsed immediately.

Warning: The use of these chemicals will cause a dull surface and / or easily recognizable chemical cracks. The use of abrasive cleaners / cleansers will dull the gloss of the surface over a period of time. Damages from the use of these chemicals will void your products warranty, so please try to stick to the guidelines above to ensure the lasting quality and beauty of your investment.
